September Newsletter

Whether you’re returning or just starting out I want to offer you  all  a warm welcome. I hope this semester will be beneficial to you not only as artists but also as people, and look forward to the work you will produce! There’s lots of fun and new opportunities coming, so keep an eye out going forward.

New Art Classes

In October there will be a new pottery class for children and adults as well as a new adult drawing class. Be sure to get in touch if you might be interested, or pass this along to those who might be eager to join!

In addition to the new pottery classes I have also welcomed a new assistant potter, Charlie Hatherway, who will lead these new classes – having already delivered some brilliant children’s classes over the summer. She will be taking charge of the pottery studio, and can often be found in there if any questions arise.

Regular classes will continue to be taught by myself, and are already off to a wonderful start.

After having to send my daughter off to university for her final year Molly and Izzy are excited to see you all again!

Student Achievements

Cara

One of our oldest and most talented students, Cara, has shown consistent improvement in and dedication to her art, and has been a pleasure to have in my Thursday classes. Thankfully, all her hard work paid off and over the summer she was accepted to the prestigious Central St Martins. I wish her all the luck in the world and feel deeply privileged to have taught her over the years. I’m sure she’ll smash it!

Elizabeth

Another one of our students (my longest and, perhaps, most important), Elizabeth, also experienced great reward for her efforts in August, receiving a level nine in Art for her GCSE. Elizabeth has often been at the core of classes, entertaining her fellow students and bringing not only dedication to her art but an unstoppable personality. She will continue to attend classes this semester and grow her already immense artistic skill.

New Studio

Over the summer I began working on a studio in my home: Parkgate, which is in the final stages of the completion. I hope to use this space for personal work, private class and exhibitions which will hopefully be even better than the tremendous showing of work we had in August!

As always, I greatly look forward to our semester together, and encourage you to reach out whenever you want. Best wishes, Chloe.
